Analytic Geometry

Pronunciation: /ˌænlˈɪ.tɪk dʒiˈɒ.mɪ.tri/ Explain

Analytic geometry is the study of geometry using algebra.[2] Analytic geometry is also called coordinate geometry and Cartesian geometry.

In analytic geometry, location is represented by coordinates. Algebra is used to describe geometric objects, their properties, and relationships between objects.

A number line is a 1-dimensional coordinate system. Plane geometry is the study of one and two dimensional figures in a 2-dimensional coordinate system. Solid geometry is the study of figures in a 3-dimensional coordinate system.
