Contain (Geometry)

Pronunciation: /kənˈteɪn/ Explain

A shape contains another shape if all of the points of the contained shape are inside of the containing shape.

Example

A solid disc with a line segment completely contained within the disc.
Figure 1: This disc contains a line segment.
