Frequency is the number of cycles that occur each time period. Frequency is often usually measured in hertz (hz). 1 hz is one cycle per second. Frequency is often used to measure waves. When measuring waves, frequency is the number of waves that pass each second.

Examples of Frequency
SoundMiddle 'C' is 440 hz.
ElectricityIn North America, and northern South America, electric power is transmitted at 60hz. In most other areas, electric power is transmitted at 50hz.
