Properties of Squares

  • A square is also a rectangle.
  • Perimeter of a square: P = 4s where s is the length of one side.
  • Area of a square: A = s2 where s is the length of one side.
  • Center of a square:
    ((x_2-x_1)/2,(y_2-y_1)/2)
where (x1, y1) is coordinate of the upper left corner of the square and (x2, y2) is the lower right corner of the square.
  • Equation of a circle inscribed in a square:
    (x - ( (x2 - x1) / 2 ) )2 + (y - ( (y2 - y1) / 2 ) )2 = (s / 2)2</var>
where (x1, y1) is coordinate of the upper left corner of the square, (x2, y2) is the lower right corner of the square and s is the length of a side.
