y-intercept

Pronunciation: /ˈwaɪ ˈɪn.tərˌsɛpt/ Explain

A y-intercept is a point at which a graph crosses the y-axis. Any point on the y-axis has an x value of 0. A graph of a function has only one y-intercept (see Vertical Line Test).
