Algebraic means having to do with algebra, or using the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and exponentiation.[1]
- An algebraic expression is an expression that
uses the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and
exponentiation.
- An algebraic equation equates algebraic
expressions.
- An algebraic function is a function whose rule
is an algebraic expression.
- An algebraic identity is an algebraic equation
that is true for all values of the variables, such as
(x + y)(x – y) = x2 - y2.
- An algebraic number is a number that is a root
of a polynomial with rational coefficients.
- An algebraic operation is one of the following
operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and exponentiation.
- An algebraic representation is a
representation
that uses algebra such as a coordinate
graph.
