A five number summary is a summary of a statistical dataset.
The five number summary consists of the
median,
the first
quartile
(Q1), the third quartile (Q3), the minimum value, and the maximum value of the dataset.
The five number summary of the dataset 2, 4, 5, 6, 6, 8, 9
is:
- Minimum: 2
- Q1: 4
- Median: 6
- Q3: 8
- Maximum 9
